Orsi Academy offers a Basic Course in Robotic Complex Benign Gynaecology for gynaecologists who already master the robotic surgery approach and who want to cover robotic surgical skills in hysterectomy, myomectomy and endometriosis surgery.

This 2-day masterclass consists of hands-on training on live animal tissue & theoretical sessions.

CASE 1 - HYSTERECTOMY
• covers topics on patient selection
• uterine manipulation
• patient positioning
• port placement and docking
• vagina vault closure
• safe specimen retrieval after hysterectomy

CASE 2 - MYOMECTOMY
• covers topics on patient selection
• uterine manipulation
• patient positioning
• port placement and docking
• control on bleeding
• suturing technique (multilayer closure, barbed sutures vs non barbed sutures)
• safe specimen retrieval after myomectomy

Hands-on session at Orsi skills lab

• On chicken model and simulator exercises
• Vagina vault closure exercises
• Myomectomy suturing exercises

• On isolated model for endometriosis
• Dissection and suturing exercise to upgrade surgical skills (reformation uterus)
• Removal of fibroid and inflammatory tissue (simulation)
