Jordi Mancebo, M.D., Ph.D., is Director and Senior Consultant, Intensive Care Department, at University Hospital de Sant Pau, Barcelona, Spain. He has conducted clinical and physiological research in the field of mechanical ventilation and acute respiratory failure, coauthoring over 230 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Since January 2015, he is an associate editor for the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and he is the current Chair of the Acute Respiratory Failure section of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine.
