Patient safety and quality are the most critically important elements of patient care. These elements must be monitored to ensure that they are improving.
Many health institutions have regular monitoring activities for patient safety and performance quality. In fact, Medicare and Medicaid require that certain measures, such as specific mortality are reported regularly and often made public.
Mechanical Ventilation is an important topic for Respiratory Therapists and those who work with patients in critical care. We spend a lot of time focusing on the initiation of support, but not as much when it comes to monitoring patients during mechanical ventilation.
Thus, an optimal monitoring method of patients during mechanical ventilation might allow an improvement of patient quality & safety parameters.
This program has been approved for 1.00 contact hours Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) credit by the American Association for Respiratory Care, 9425, N. MacArthur Blvd, Suite 100, Irving TX 75063.
