Women with Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) secondary to Intrinsic Sphincter Deficiency (ISD) may benefit form implantation of an AMS-800 urinary control system.

Robot assisted laparoscopic placement of an artificial sphincter was first described by Prof. Fournier in 2014 and since then many groups have adopted this surgical approach. There are two principal approaches to the dissection of the bladder neck to place the cuff and both techniques will be described.

The course will cover indications for surgery, counselling of women prior to surgery, current outcome data, the surgical technique and then allow for practice in cadaver models under the supervision of experienced faculty.
