Reusable flexible bronchoscopes are very difficult to decontaminate and impossible to sterilize. In recent years, the possible risk of cross contamination with reusable bronchoscopes has received increasing attention, accentuated by the current pandemic.
The emersion of single-use flexible bronchoscopes may address these concerns. Is the technology sufficient for a modern COVID and post-COVID world?
In short: is single-use ready for prime time?
