Erectile Restoration - patient management and surgical skills

This course uses case-based learning to foster an understanding of the managment of severe chronic erectile dysfunction in men who may be candidates for penile prosthesis implantation.

As well as the steps of the surgical procedure, discussion focusses on effective patient counselling and expectation management, prevention and management of complications and management of andrological emergencies.

The course is aimed at surgeons with no prior surgical experience of implantation, but with a broad general knowledge of the role of penile implants in the treatment of ED.

The second day is spent in the surgical cadaver lab practicing implant techniques in small groups (4 per cadaver) under the tuition of expert faculty members.
