Orsi Academy is hosting this year's RAWS's annual symposium on the 13th, 14th & 15th of May.

 

It's a 3-day congress organized by top experts in the field, Dr. Muysoms, Dr. Ramaswamy & Dr. Ballecer.

 

During these 3 days, an international faculty of +20 experts will guide you through the world of Robotic Abdominal Wall Surgery.

 

Expect high level lectures, live surgery broadcasts from the Maria Middelares hospital in Ghent, a live cadaveric dissection session to expose and discuss the anatomy of the abdominal wall, panel discussions, Q&A's, an exhibition hall with industrial partners and of course social networking moments.

Getting there

How to get to Ghent from the airport? 

Ghent is only a 1 hour car drive away from 3 convenient airports: Brussels Airport, Brussels South Charleroi Airport and Lille Lesquin. It is easily accesible by train (NMBS) or taxi (Limo Saelens). More information on the directions can be found here.

How to get to Ghent by train? 

The main railway station of Ghent is "Gent-Sint-Pieters Station". There are frequent direct train connections between Ghent and Brussels Airport. To go to Brussels South Charleroi Airport or Lille Lesquin, train transfers are required. All info on the train schedules can be found here, but sometimes, taking a taxi might be the most time efficient.

 

Eurostar and Thalys connect Brussels Midi and Lille Lesquin with Amsterdam, Cologne, Paris and London.

 

Ghent - Melle

 

Orsi Academy is located in Melle, a small rural village close to the city of Ghent. We strongly encourage everyone to book his/her accomodation in Ghent as this is only a 15 minutes car drive away from Orsi Academy. Moreover, it is a hidden gem for tourists, known by locals as the most beautiful city of Belgium.

For ground transportation, our partner Limo Saelens is at your service with excellent assistance and fixed, transparant prices. If you need transportation, please plan your taxi transfers in advance. For the congress, they'll accept all reservations until 1 day in advance of the transfer. Dr. Andreas G. The Lab course is just for beginners and should be declared as such. The quality of the presentations was as always very different. I shall recommend the course anyway. I am looking forward to the course about the upper GI-tract.
