Dr. Filip Muysoms, MD, PhD


Filip Muysoms spent most of his training in general surgery at AZ Maria Middelares, where he became a staff member in 1998. He spent one year of his training in surgery at the renowned center for lung cancer surgery, St Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands. Since his start as a staff member in surgery, he has performed thoracic surgery including cancer resections and in 2009 this care was strengthened with the arrival of Bart Jacobs. In addition, he has focused on the care of patients with gastrointestinal tumors in collaboration with Donald Claeys and Pieter Pletinckx. Specific expertise was acquired in laparoscopic resections of colon tumors and the resections of pancreatic and esophageal tumors.

Dr. Andreas G. The Lab course is just for beginners and should be declared as such. The quality of the presentations was as always very different. I shall recommend the course anyway. I am looking forward to the course about the upper GI-tract.
