Prof. Olivier Scatton, M.D., PhD


Since 2014, he has been head of the liver transplantation center of Pitié-Salpêtrière and leader of translational research in the INSERM-SU-ICAN team entitled “Metabolic end biliary fibro- inflammatory diseases of the liver”. He has been entrusted by AP-HP to lead the Paris center of liver transplantation, that resulted from the merge of three centers (Cochin, Saint-Antoine and Pitié). He holds his PhD degree in oncology, studying hepatocellular carcinoma and the bone marrow (BM) as a tumor cell reservoir. He has conducted many clinical trials (phase II & III) as PI.

He is national coordinator in the field of transplantation and liver surgery and member of the scientific council of the Biomedecine Agency. He is internationally recognized as a pioneer of laparoscopic approach in liver surgery.
