Non-invasive respiratory support has gained increasing popularity in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) thanks to the potential to reduce lung injury as compared to invasive mechanical ventilation(1). The growing interest and technological advancement have led to a number of modalities to deliver non-invasive respiratory support for preterm infants and neonates(1).
During this webinar, Dr Anna Lavizzari will discuss:
• The physiological effects and indications of various non-invasive respiratory support modalities used in neonatal medicine: including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Nasal High-Flow Therapy, Non-Invasive High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (nHFOV), Nasal Intermittent Positive Airway Pressure (NIPPV) and synchonised NIPPV
• The interfaces used for delivering non-invasive respiratory support to neonates and the impact of the design
• Future research into selecting the appropriate non-invasive respiratory support modality for each patient
