Orsi Academy offers a 2-day course in robotic TME surgery on living animal tissue (anesthetized porcine model) & human cadaveric tissue.


This course is intended for general surgeons with intermediate robotic skills who want to master the robotic surgery approach in left sided colonic resections and Total Mesorectal Excision (TME) surgery.


Proctored and one-to-one teaching by top-expert Dr. Thalia Petropoulou! The 2-day masterclass consists of a hands-on wet-lab training and theoretical lectures at Orsi Academy.

Hands-on training on anesthetized porcine model

• 2 surgeons per station/porcine model
• Port placement and robotic set-up
• Upgrade on specific dissection skills
• Small bowel resection and ICA (robotic stapled – hand-sewn)
• Para-arotic lymphadenectomy
• Superial rectal artery and vein ligation
• Bower resection by stapling and anastomosis
• Use and injection of ICG
• Vascular injury and control
