Orsi Academy offers a 5-Day Course in Robotic Urology for fellows, residents and surgeons with advanced robotic exposure who want to learn to perform a RARP independently and effectively.
Proctored by top-experts Prof. Dr. Alex Mottrie, Dr. Alessandro Larcher and Dr. Paolo Dell'Oglio.
After completion, participants receive a ERUS/ESU certificate as a console surgeon.
A EAU certificate can be obtained after sending a video for blind reviewing.
- If you are a fellow in one of the ERUS robotic host centers and have been enrolled in the six month CC-ERUS validated training pathway by EAU, this 5-day course is the mandatory kick-off.
- If you are NOT a fellow in one of the ERUS robotic host centers, you can still enroll in this Robotic Skills Course. Thus, it serves as a stand-alone skills course.
The 5-day masterclass consists of:
- one day of basic skills exercises: system overview, simulator training, exercises on pelvic model and Venezuelan chicken
- one day of live case observation at the OLV Hospital in Aalst
- one day of handson training on canine cadaver
- one day of handson training on porcine model: all steps of the RARP & ePLND
- one day of performing full RARP & ePLND procedure on porcine model, when skills level is sufficient

The course was great and very helpful for getting started with robotic surgery. Only one minor issue was that we were asked to finish the course one day at 4:30pm, although it was scheduled until 5pm. At our stage of training, we were eager to get each second for practicing. Given the decent registration fee, it should not happen that we are asked to finish early.
