Current tissue expanders have compatibility limitations with some of the most sensitive medical imaging technologies caused by their injection port which is made of ferromagnetic metals, creating large metal-induced artifacts when exposed to these techniques. Due to this existing drawback, Establishment Labs® has developed the Motiva Flora® Tissue Expander with an innovative injection port that operates with radiofrequency (RFID) technology that does not have high-density metals; therefore, it does not cause such artifacts.
