Students will have the opportunity to observe live teaching of the world known and highly experienced instructor in a laboratory setting with real students, and they will participate in the teaching process as an assistant throughout the week. This course is designed to equip participants with the necessary theoretical knowledge, practical skills, teaching methodologies, assessment strategies, and continuous professional development techniques to effectively train others in microsurgery. The course will encompass both surgical and non-surgical techniques, providing a structured approach to teaching and learning in this specialized field.
Prerequisites:
All participants must take a Basic microsurgery course at MTL
Advanced course is optional but advised and can be completed concurrently with a TTT course or prior
Experience in teaching is preferred
Effective teaching methodologies tailored to microsurgery
Deep understanding of microsurgical principles, techniques, and instrumentation
Deep understanding of different models used for microsurgery: non-living and living
Basic knowledge of working with live animal models and basics of rodent anesthesia
Basic and advanced practical skills in microsurgical procedures through hands-on training
How to assess learners' progress and provide constructive feedback
Communicate to students with different cultural backgrounds & deal with frustration & ange
Cultivate a commitment to continuous professional development & lifelong learning in micro
