As a leading reason for dermatology visits, pigmentary disorders affect 1 in 2 people and have a significant impact on patients' quality of life*. Hyperpigmentation disorders are challenging to manage, however a deeper understanding of the pathophysiology is being uncovered which leads to better tagerting of the undelying mechanisms and thus better management.

Join Prof. Thierry Passeron, Head of the Dermatology department at Nice University Hospital and Head of INSERM U1065 Team 12, as he shares the latest scientific insights on hyperpigmentation, particularly melasma, and how these discoveries are transforming its management. Pr Passeron and his colleagues have identified new factors involved in the development and regulation of hyperpigmentation, such as an altered basal membrane, increased vascularisation, factors produced by keratinocytes, and others.

Alongside him, Katherine Butcher, Medical and Scientific Manager at Laboratoire Dermatologique ACM, will present a new innovation that builds on ACM’s pioneering expertise in pigmentary disorders. As the #1 prescribed laboratory in France for anti-brown spot care, ACM is continuing to innovate, with a solution that responds to these latest insights and targets a key mechanism of melanin production that has previously not been achievable by topical route**.
