Overview

Since opening its doors back in 2010, Riviera Vein Academy has been a leading Medical Training Center in vascular surgery. The Academy has welcomed doctors and surgeons from all over the world, providing practical personalized training for varicose veins treatment.

Riviera Vein Academy is dedicated to the research of a better understanding of the varicose disease and its pathophysiology and the improvement of surgical and anaesthetic techniques. 

Its purpose is to develop an innovative and minimally invasive approach for the treatment of varicose veins and to implement a high-quality care protocol for patients.

Dr. Paul Pittaluga, MD Vascular Surgery
Overview
Surgeon, Former Academic Hospital Resident, Former Academic Hospital Chief Resident, Former Professor Assistant at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, Doctor Pittaluga is hyperspecialized in the treatment of varicose veins. At the origin of the ASVAL method description, he has been involved for many years in several sientific societies in France. He is an elected member of the Board and Chair of the Venous Committee of the French Society for Vascular Surgery, Vice-President of the French Society of Angiology and member of the French Society of Phlebology. He is also involved in several international activities, as Chair of the Awards and Grant Committee of the American Venous Forum, Active Member of the American College of Phlebology, Board Member of the European Venous Forum, Active Member of the European Society of Vascular Surgery, French Representative of the European Society for Phlebectomy and Vice-President of the European Society of Physionutrition. Dr Pittaluga is the co-founder of the Riviera Veine Institut with Dr Chastanet, dedicated to overall care « a la carte » for varicose diseases, and to the development of new approaches for surgical treatment.

Surgeon, Former Academic Hospital Resident, Former Academic Hospital Chief Resident, Former Professor Assistant at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, Doctor Chastanet has a Master of Surgical Science in Transplantation (DEA) and a Bachelor of Honors in Anatomy and Immunology. He is hyperspecialized in the treatment of varicose veins and has actively contibuted to the development of the ASVAL method with Dr Pittaluga. Member of several scientific societies, such as the French Society for Vascular Surgery for which is an Active Member and Member of the Venous Committee, the French Society of Phlebology, the French Society of Angiology, he is continuously involved in many international meetings. He is also an Active Member of the American College of Phlebology, Member of the American Venous Forum, Active Member of the European Venous Forum, Board member and Chair of Edition of the European Society of Phlebectomy, and Member of the Scientific Committee of the European Society of Physionuytrition. Dr Chastanet is the co-founder of the Riviera Veine Institut with Dr Pittaluga, dedicated to overall care « a la carte » for varicose diseases, and to the development of new approaches for surgical treatment.
