He has performed more than 1500 endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal pituitary surgeries and more than 500 endoscopic endonasal skull base surgeries for different intracranial lesions including craniopharyngiomas, meningiomas, clival chordomas and other rarer tumors. Beside this, he has performed as first or second surgeon, more than 900 neurosurgical procedures on the main pathologies of surgical interest of the Central and Peripheral Nervous System.
Author of more than 200 publications of neurosurgical interest, most of them on peer-reviewed international journal and of 32 book chapters. (h-index: 43; source: Web of Science)
Invited lecturer in more than 80 International courses, meetings and congresses.
Research activity has been focused, predominantly on: endoscopic endonasal pituitary and skull base surgery; endoscopic skull base anatomy; brain tumors; trigeminal neuralgia.
