Dr. Antonello Forgione General Surgery

Antonello Forgione MD PhD MBA FACS FRAES (Hon) FCBC (Hon)

Dr Antonello Forgione is a Digestive Surgeon with decennial experience in particular in the field of MIS - Minimal Invasive Surgery ,Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery-SILS , Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery - NOTES and Computer Assisted Robotic Surgery. 

Scientific Director of the AIMS Academy since its conception in 2009. AIMS - Advanced International Mini-invasive Surgery Academy is one of the few international training center in MIS in Europe and among the few in the World. 

He’s currently Consultant in General,Oncologic and Mininvasive Surgery in the largest public hospital in Italy, the Niguarda Cà Granda Hospital in Milan. 

He holds a PhD and received a Global Executive MBA from SDA Bocconi University. 

Dr Forgione is Founder and currently CEO of ValueBioTech Ltd, a start up company working on the development of a patented microrobotic platform for SILS and NOTES. 

He is also Founder and President of the MedTechCatalyst an italian based association devoted to the scouting and support of innovative projects in the biotechnology field. 

He is currently selected member of the Research Committees of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery EAES and past member of the Technology committees of the EAES and Society of the American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons SAGES. Dr Forgione is also Fellow of the American College of Surgeon and Honorary Member of the Romanian , Egyptian and Brasilian Society of Surgery. 

Dr Forgione is editorial board member and reviewer of several international indexed journal.   He is author and co-authors of numerous scientific papers published in high indexed international journals. 

Prof. Abe Fingerhut General Surgery

He is author or co-author of > 700 articles or book chapters in peer-reviewed journals and major textbooks and has participated as speaker, chairman, or organizer in more than 950 National and International meetings. As assistant secretary of the French Association for Clinical Research, he was co-author or contributed to the publication of more than 140 controlled or prospective trials run in France in the last 21 years.

Dr. Raffaele Pugliese General Surgery

He has published more than 100 issues on scientific journals and several monographic issues.

He cooperates with Milan University’s Medicine and Surgery students and participates in their preparation to graduate, organizes post-graduate courses and courses of specialization in General and Digestive Surgery.

His Department is a landmark centre for courses of laparoscopic surgery proposed by the Italian Surgery College.     He has participated in more than 200 international meetings and congresses on surgery, acting as a real-time operating surgeon, lecturer, president or chairman.

From 1988, he is founder and President of ILCAM Association (Istituto Lombardo di Chirurgia Avanzata Mini-invasiva), that has trained hundreds of surgeons from Italy in mini-invasive and advanced surgery.

From 2008, he is President of the MIAS Foundation (Minimal Invasive Advanced Surgery Academy), a multidisciplinary training centre currently unique in Italy, that contributes to the progress of medical and surgical sciences through research, development of innovative and mini-invasive surgical techniques and professional training of students, physicians and experts surgeons who want to learn more complex procedures or master new techniques, using virtual simulator, inanimate and animal models and participating in hands-on courses.

elisa maria v. Corso interessantissimo e molto formativo. Docenti chiari ed esaustivi nell’affrontare le tematiche, disponibili nel rispondere alle domande chiarendo ogni dubbio. Molto utile il laboratorio sul modello animale, sul quale abbiamo potuto simulare diversi scenari e diverse manovre. Credo che soltanto facendo una procedura là si acquisisce veramente! Ho apprezzato molto il rapporto 2:1 (discenti:tutore) durante l’esercitazione pomeridiana, questo ha permesso di avere un rapporto più immediato e più « personale » tra il discente e il tutore. Mi auguro che questo corso possa essere riproposto anche negli anni futuri!
